In 1977, Simplicity was founded by four London schoolgirls Sandra Blake, Millicent Taffe, Yvonne Webley and Patricia Rowe.

Record producer Coxsone, took them under his wing and they gained a foothold with their first Roots Lovers hit ‘To be in Love’ on the flip side was the soul extravaganza ‘A Feeling is a Feeling’ (the Emotions classic).

Neville King headhunted Simplicity and produced their other hits ‘Loving Kind’, ‘Waiting’ and Black is our Colour with his protégé band, One Blood.

Maxi Priest was one of the many greats that came from the Neville King stable, until it was disbanded in the early 1990s.

Simplicity went on to pen further releases For the Love of You, This Love is Real, Grooving, Lets Rock and The One for Me.

Over the years, Simplicity (now three of the original members) appeared at many revival shows and private events, including their own Soul and Jazz projects. Simplicity has grown not only musically, but in song writing and performance. Most importantly, they are not just great singers of (Reggae, Soul and Jazz), but they are firm friends who are committed to their art.

In 2011, Simplicity made an awesome Lovers Rock comeback. They were billed with Earl Sixteen where they won over the crowd and were immediately booked to appear with Johnny Clarke and Al Campbell one month later.

Going from strength to strength, they were headhunted to appear at the Indigo O2 “Giants of Lovers Rock” concert headlined by Freddie McGregor, Ginger Williams and Susan Cadogan.  Also included were a bevy of Lovers Rock artists namely, Janet Kay, Carol Thompson, Sandra Cross, JC Lodge, Victor Romero-Evans and Beshara etc.

Simplicity is now working on some new releases for 2012, with a renowned Jamaican producer who has a star stable of artists.  This is an exciting time, and they are enjoying their newfound success.

Simplicity has continued to work hard throughout the years and is now ready and eager to start touring the World.
